Kim Files for Divorce

After 72 days of marriage Kim Kardashian files for a divorce from hubby Kris Humphries. The couple who had seemed made for each other split on the grounds of ‘irreconcilable differences’. Kim 31 said that Kris was chosen from a group of men to marry her and that Kim was hoping to grow some feelings for Kris 26 but it never happened. Reports have emerged that according to some sources their whole marriage was a hoax! Even though Kim had hoped that her marriage would last happily forever. Neither Kris nor Kim has tweeted about their marriage. But Kris has said that ‘I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for a divorce I am going to do everything to make things work.

Katy Perry and Russell Brands £300,000 wedding was a spectacular night while embracing the jungle themed wedding  a wild man-eating tiger tried to crash the wedding as it escaped and went for the 85 quests and the newlyweds! Despite the gate crasher that climbed over the walls, it was still amazing for them as they had a fortune telling parrot that told them that they will have a long loving life together. Russell described that Katy was the ‘epitome of beauty’. He also said that ‘really, love between two people is the most spectacular and ordinary thing in the world!’  When they tied the knot Katy wore a blue sari and Russell wore a traditional nude coloured kurta. And when Katy Perry turned 26 they were still celebrating, with Russell giving her a ruby which is said to hold protective powers. Then Katy gave him a baby elephant.

 I added this mood board to show what type of audience are going to buy my magazine/product (p). It also shows what type of things the audience like. I chose these images because the audience i am looking for is for boys 15-25 yr olds that go on game consoles (d). So i picked these images because i think they best describe what boys that age like (m).

Plus because my audience are the ages 15-25 so they arent going to play games like mario (d).

MEDIA studies evaluation-

Media Studies evaluation-

 1)  In Photoshop we did our own cover designs with Kanye West, Kelly Rowland, Rihanna, Get the look and fashion frames. The skills we used were masking which is masking round a part of someone’s body in an image, magic wand tool, rulers so it makes text in line, text box, mast head and layers so the text can go in front of the image.

In Indesign we used skills like text wrap to make text go round the person in the image, drop cap to make the first letter stand out, layers to make the text go in front of the picture, place holder text to fill the page, and to see what it looks like and stroke tool.  

When we did the writing copy we used skills like researching information to put in our work, and being able to look at information and then putting it in our own words.

When we made the script writing and storyboards, we used skills like the tab button slug line which is saying where and when, and making all names in the script in capitals and when we did the storyboards we also had to learn different camera shots and movements for example DOLLY forward/back or CRAB left/right - this was to show where the camera was going to go.

 2)  I enjoyed doing the Kelly Rowland work because it looked professional and I was happy with the finished product. I think the skill I was best at was masking the image. I also liked doing script writing because we were allowed to think what we were writing ourselves, so we could be creative plus I think I used the skills well as we had to remember to include slug lines and making sure all names were in capitals.

3)  The skills I think I was best at were masking and script writing and story boarding because I was able to remember what to do but and make it look professional.

4)  I think I could use these skills in the future because say if I wanted to be a director or photographer I would know all different camera shots and movements, for example ‘medium wide shot’ if I was taking a picture I would need to know what the shot is called.

5)  The skills I need to improve on are using place holder text and drop cap, so it looks more professional and using a mast head.

6)  To get better I could practice so it looks better and professional when I do it in my work.

Storyboard!

We made these storyboards using skills like: Slug Line, Camera shots and movements. I think it went ok, but i colud have made my pictures more clear, because thay dont look very good.

Writing Copy: Script Taxi driver.

I used microsoft word to make this. Including sluglines saying where and when, doing alignment to make it clear, effectib=ve and easy to read. And adding dialogue becasue it is a script and makeing sure its all in present tense. I think it went well becaus ei didnt need any help, to get a better grade i could help someone else.

EXT.SIDE OF THE STREET – NIGHT

HELEN stands on the pavement, on the phone to her friend FRANCESCA, gossiping about the night out ahead of them. HELEN Keeps desperately putting her hand out for a taxi.

HELEN

Ok, so you need to meet me just outside the pub i will hopefully be there in half an hour. (Talking down the phone)

HELEN finally gets the attention of one taxi driver who pulls up alongside, she gets in.

HELEN

Hi, finally got a taxi, I have been waiting for twenty five minutes! Anyway, can you take me to Brentwood high street, and there is a little pub at the end of the road. If that ok please.

HELEN waits for a reply, there was no reply.

HELEN

Umm hello...?

The TAXI DRIVER still doesn’t reply.

HELEN

Hello... Can you take me to the little pub at the end of the road, if that’s alright?

(Pause, awaiting reply)

              HELEN

Look sorry to waste to your time I will just get another taxi.

Before HELEN can get out the TAXI driver locks the doors from the inside so she can’t get out.

              HELEN

          Excuse me you just locked the door, I need to get out.

The TAXI driver ignores her and drives off.

              HELEN

Sorry this is not the way that I wanted to go its the other way, I want to go to the pub.

Yet again The TAXI driver ignores her.

              HELEN

Listen you can take this turning here to the right and still get to the pub.

The TAXI driver still doesn’t listen and goes straight on. It comes to a dead end. The engine went off, there was silence.

             

Writing copy: Script boyfriend cheating.

To do this writing copy i used microsoft word on a blank document, to do this i had to use courier new text, used a slug line which tells you where and when. including good alignment which makes it clear and easy to read. I also had to do dialogue. I think it went well becuase i didnt need any help to do it.

EXT.BUS STOP – NIGHT

JAMIE sits at the bus stop. GRACE sits down next to her, she looks worried.

GRACE

I need to tell you something...

JAMIE

          Ok, but be quick. I am going to meet JOSH.

GRACE

It’s about JOSH.

JAMIE

What about him?

JAMIE looks confused. GRACE looks hesitant bits her lip.

GRACE

Well he... he... (Stutters)

JAMIE

Spit it out!

GRACE

He cheated on you!

JAMIE

What!? He would never do that to me, he said he loved     me... (JAMIE looks hurt)

GRACE

I’m sorry you had to find out like this, but I saw him, I saw with my own eyes. Kissing someone!

JAMIE

Who did he kiss?

GRACE

Well, um... it was... it was JADE!(Blurts it out)

JAMIE

What!!!! She is supposed to be one of my best mates why would she do that to me! I hate her!

GRACE

(Cautiously) I, I might be wrong it might not have been her, I mean I couldn’t see the face quite well.

JAMIE

I know its her she has been acting weird with me for the past two weeks, I knew something was up. But I had no idea what it was!

GRACE

(Nervously) Oh please don’t tell anyone I told you, they will hate me for grassing them up!

JAMIE ponders for a second passing back and forth.

               JAMIE

I know, why don’t we trick them, then catch them together that way I will see for myself and no one thinks you have grassed them up!

GRACE

(Looks relieved) Yeah that’s a good idea!

3 column layout

I used InDesign to make this, placing pictures and adding placeholder text. This was the first thing i did in InDesign, an di think it went ok becasue i didnt need a lot of help.

Text wrap

I used InDesign to make this, i made a new document including 3 columns and making sure it is portrait. Then i added all  the frames then placed the picture then added placeholder text. I then used the pen tool to go around the body of the picture so the writing can be seen. I also made the first letter drop cap. I think it went well because i did not need anyhelp at all, and i could help others.

Double Page spread

I used InDesign to make it, I made a new document making sure i had 3 columns and it was two pages. Then i inserted frames and added text and pictures then made sure the i used text wrap and the stroke tool, i also adjusted it by adding a drop cap at the start, i think it went well because i didnt need any help. But to make it better i could have added more with the pictures at the bottom.

Get the look.

I used photoshop to do this task. I had to place images then mask them and the place them onto the page so they all fitted properly i did that using free transform. Then i added text boxes and put them to the side and on the clothes that i had placed then i changed the opacity so you could see through. I changed the colours of the text and boxex to match the colour scheme of my work. i also added shadows to the clothes and it made it look effective and professional.

Fashion Frames

To do this i used pohtoshop. The first thing i had to do was the usual steps of: File-New-Place and then i placed these picture frames onto the screen then masked out the picture inside it then i placed images of clothes and masked them and placed them in the frame making sure the layers of each image was right. I think my work went well becaus ei did it all by myself and could help others but i think that i could have done more by adding images at the top like the picture that was the example we had to follow, and change the opacity of the images to to make it more effective.

The improvements i made were adding other images:

Rihanna

I used photoshop for this magazine cover. I used tools like magic wand tool, rulers, colour tools so that i could make the picture of rihanna go black and white. I think when i masked the picture it went well because it was quite hard. I havent completed it yet but i have done most of the criteria like adding the mast head and getting the picture in black and white and rotating the picture so it is the other way. I think the colour scheme fits with the blue, black and white. I think this is a working progress.

Kelly Rowland

I used photoshop to make this Kelly Rowland magazine cover. I used tools like: Magic wand tool, masking, rulers and different layers and text fonts. I think the cover went successfully, and looked kind of professional. I think the colour was appropriate. I included mast head and text on the side. This magazine cover is finished now and  i think went well seen as though i did get any help from anyone.

Kanye West

I used photo shop to make the magazine cover featuring kanye west. I used tools like: masking, rulers, magic wand tool and some others. When i masked the image it worked successfully because it looked real and not messy. I then used the magic wand tool to make the masking exactly right. I added the rulers to make the text in line to make it more presentable and clear. I included a mast head and an image of kanye west that i masked without help.

My work is still in progress at the moment as i still need to add some more text but i have done most of the criteria.
